Chris Overton

Chris Overton (* 1989 in Cannock , Staffordshire , England ) is a British actor , film producer and film director .

Career

He has been interested in films since he was 13 and wanted to have a camera himself. He attended Kingsmead School in England. Overton's film career began in 2003 as an actor on the television series The Magic Coin . He was previously a voice actor on the video game Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone . He also worked in Joel Schumacher's Das Phantom der Oper from 2004 as the “young phantom”. In Roman Polański's film, Oliver Twist, based on the novel of the same name by Charles Dickens , he got the role of Noah Claypole and stood in front of the camera with Barney Clark and Ben Kingsley . This was followed by appearances in television series and soap operas such as The Mysti Show , Hollyoaks and Inspector Banks before he starred in the short films Dalston Heath (2013) and Pride .

Overton won together with Rachel Shenton at the Oscar ceremony in 2018 an Oscar in the category " Best Short Film " for his film The Silent Child . At other film festivals he received eight awards for this work. Also in 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
