Christa Kleinhans

Christa Kleinhans (born July 22, 1937 in Dortmund-Marten ) is a former German soccer player .

After she was initially a track and field athlete and won the West German championships with the 4 x 100 meter relay of OSV Hoerde , the soccer world championship in 1954 awakened the desire to play soccer. Initially at Grün-Weiß Dortmund , she soon moved to Fortuna Dortmund .

Although the DFB banned women's football in 1955, Kleinhans took part as right-winger with jersey number 9 in the second German women's international match against the Netherlands on March 16, 1957 and scored two goals. By the end of her career in 1965, she played around 150 international matches organized by the German Women's Football Association during the DFB's ban on women's football .

Then she played handball at UTG Witten and made it into the Bundesliga there too .
