Christian Colson

Christian Colson (* in England ) is a British film producer .

Life

Christian Colson studied English at Wadham College , Oxford . In 1994 he started at the British artist agency London Management , where he looked after screenwriters and playwrights; four years later he worked initially as a project developer and in 1999 as head of project development at the newly founded company HAL Film . After the collaboration between the production companies Miramax Films and HAL Film for the film Mansfield Park in 1999 , he switched to Miramax.

After Miramax Films, he joined the two-year-old production company Celador in June 2002 , which had just released its first film Dirty Pretty Things , which in turn was distributed by Miramax.

As head of production and development, he was initially only planned for the next two years, but in 2005 received an offer to become managing director together with the director of Celador, Paul Smith . From then on, his first films as a producer followed, including Neil Marshall's successful horror film The Descent . A wide audience Colson was known when he turned for the Mumbai film Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle the 2009 BAFTA Award , the British Independent Film Award , the Golden Globe Award and the Oscar who accepted for the Best Film.
