Christian DuMont Schütte

Christian DuMont Schütte (born March 2, 1957 as Christian Schütte ) is a German publisher.

He is publisher of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger and the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung in Halle as well as the EXPRESS Cologne and Bonn. His father Dieter Schütte had married Brigitte Neven DuMont from the Cologne publishing house family Neven DuMont in 1950 . His grandfather was August Neven DuMont (1887–1965), chairman of the German Book Printers Association and the trading company of German newspaper publishers.

He is married to Sabine Geschke, with whom he has three children.

After DuMont Schuette's Abitur at Schloss Neubeuen in May 1975, he began an apprenticeship at the Delbrück bank in Cologne in August 1977 , which he completed in January 1980 with the final exam to become a banker . He then studied business administration up to an intermediate diploma at the University of Cologne and, at the same time, law at the University of Hamburg up to the first state examination .

In January 1990 he joined the M. DuMont Schauberg publishing house . From February 1990 he was deputy advertising manager and received general power of attorney in April; in November 1991 he was appointed deputy sales manager and in September 1992 he was appointed group manager, responsible for investments. In June 2004 he was appointed spokesman for the management of the Equity Investments division, and in January 2009 he was appointed to the management board of the M. DuMont Schauberg media group. Christian DuMont Schütte has been deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the M. DuMont Schauberg media group since January 2014 and chairman of the supervisory board of the newspaper publishers' association in North Rhine-Westphalia (ZVNRW) since May 2014. On January 15, 2015 Christian DuMont Schütte took over the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board from Alfred Neven DuMont .

DuMont Schütte is a founding partner of KultCrossing , a non-profit company that promotes cultural and aesthetic education.
