Christian Lété

Christian Lété (* 6. October 1944 in Tunis ) is a French jazz - drummer .

Lété played with René Urtreger , Maurice Vander and Raymond Lesénéchal in the house band of Club Saint-Germain in Paris since 1971 . In 1972 he toured Europe with Eddy Louiss and gave concerts with Yvan Julien . Later he appeared with Dexter Gordon , George Coleman , Joachim Kühn and Charlie Wood in the chat qui pêche . Together with Bernard Lubat he founded the group Percussions Experiences , but also played in the groups of Didier Levallet , Jouk Minor , Jef Gilson and Henri Texier .

In 1982 he accompanied Barbara Hendricks with the Orchester Philharmonique de Lorraine in a Gershwin program. He then worked as a studio musician, but also in the groups of Gérard Marais and Jean-Marc Padovani . In 1988 he became a member of the Orchester National du Jazz , with which he a. a. performed at festivals in Angoulême, Bourges, Montpellier, Nancy, Berlin, Vienna and Tokyo. He also worked with Claude Nougaro , Eddy Mitchell and Charles Aznavour .

He is currently working with the Trio Terranova-Lété-Bonfils (with Claude Terranova and Tony Bonfils ) and leads his own quartet (with Jean-Marc Larché, among others ).
