Christina Krafczyk (* 1965 in Hagen ) is a German architect and head of the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation in Hanover .

Act

Christina Krafczyk began her professional career in the 1990s as a research assistant at the Chair for Monument Preservation and Building Research at the Technical University of Dortmund , where she was Uta Hassler's assistant . At that time she was working as an independent architect in various working groups. From 2005 Christina Krafczyk was as a senior assistant at the Institute of Historic Building in the department Architktur the ETH Zurich busy. Since 2008 she has been working at the Institute for Building Preservation and Structural Engineering at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where she had a teaching position in the field of structural engineering history. In 2013 she did her doctorate on the history of architecture of the 19th century. On September 1, 2017, Christina Krafczyk became President of the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation, succeeding Stefan Winghart , who was retiring.

She is a founding member of the Society for the History of Building Technology and a member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites . She is also a member of the Lower Saxony Monument Commission and the Lower Saxony Chamber of Architects .

The scientific and monumental focus of their work is on building preservation. She has been involved in numerous architectural projects in the creation of listed solutions for the sustainable use of cultural monuments .
