Christine Litz

Christine Litz (* 1967 in Singen (Hohentwiel) ) is a German art historian . She is best known for her work as the project manager of the " Sculpture Projects Münster 2007 " and Documenta 13 .

Life

Christine Litz studied art history , German literature and education at the Universities of Cologne and Bochum . She did her doctorate in Bochum in 2002 with a paper “On the Textuality of Art in the 20th Century” using the example of Duchamp , Nauman and Roni Horn . From 1994 to 1999 she worked as an art critic . From 1999 to 2000 she had the organizational and responsible responsibility for a weekly series of lectures at the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum / Museum Ludwig. Litz worked for five years from 2001 to 2005 as a curator at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne . There she was, among other things, assistant to director Kasper König. During these years she curated exhibitions with artists such as Bruce Nauman, Heike Beyer, Lily van der Stokker and Mauricio Cattelan. From February 2005 to December 2007 she was the responsible project manager for “skulptur projekte münster 07”. For almost two years from 2007 to 2009, she held a position as "consultant for fine arts" at the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture. Since October 2009 she has been the project manager of Documenta 13 . On June 1, 2012 she took over the management of the Museum für Neue Kunst Freiburg , succeeding Jochen Ludwig .
