Christopher Becker (born May 1, 1980 in Bad Münstereifel ) is a German film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Christopher Becker studied directing at the international film school in Cologne , where he graduated in 2005. He also held various positions in the film industry, initially as manager , then as production manager . During his studies, he made short films that were represented at national and international film festivals . These include women's parking lot and his graduation film Midsummer . From 2007 to 2011, alongside Johannes F. Sievert and Moritz Grenzebach, he was partner and managing director of the company "Pi Filmproduktion", which was included in the scholarship program of the "AV-Gründerzentrum NRW" initiated by the Filmstiftung NRW and the city ​​of Cologne in the founding year.

Together with Daniel Rakete Siegel, he wrote and directed the web series Highroller and Tank from 2008 to 2010 with Daniel Wiemer , Raphael Rubino , Anna Angelina Wolfers and Hans-Martin Stier in the leading roles. The viral spot “Schalenklau” for the company PayPal was also created from the collaboration , which was seen over two million times on the Internet and broadcast in Zeigler's wonderful world of football , the sports show and in the current sports studio .

He was a lecturer at the University of Duisburg-Essen . In 2011 he had a guest appearance in the movie An Island called Udo , and in 2012 in the movie Eating Fries .

The short films Brothers and Spielzeit , which he produced, premiered in January 2012 . Brothers premiered in the competition for the best short film as part of the Max Ophüls Prize in Saarbrücken and was nominated for the First Steps Award in August 2012 , Spielzeit was nominated for the best international short film at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City , Utah .

In 2015 he developed the comedy series Comedy Rocket with Daniele Rizzo , which he produced in three seasons until 2017 and was responsible as headwriter. He also directed some episodes. On Facebook could Comedy Rocket recorded more than 230 million video views. On YouTube alone , the clip "Sex in the Bathtub" reached over 18 million viewers (as of January 2020).
