Cilly Feindt (born April 8, 1909 in Berlin ; † August 21, 1999 in Los Angeles ) was a German actress and artistic rider .

Life

Cilly Feindt was the daughter of a Berlin merchant. She was trained by Karl Heß and performed in the Paul Busch Circus at the age of 14 . She also performed with horse performances at the Scala in Berlin and in the Varieté Wintergarten . After she had established herself as an artist, she was discovered in 1926 by the director Adolf Gärtner for the film " Die Zirkusprinzessin ", based on an operetta by Emmerich Kálmán . After that, she often played the roles of horsewomen on the screen.

In the following years she switched between her careers as a film actress and artist, toured Europe, North and South America. The Second World War initially stopped her artistic career. After the war, engagements at the Althoff Circus and, between 1948 and 1951, at the Ringling Brothers' American circus followed. After that, Cilly Feindt finally settled in California and only appeared in short appearances in film productions.

Cilly Feindt had a temporary relationship with the boxer Max Schmeling ; a golden chain, which he wore during his fights, is said to have been a present from her.
