Clément Jodoin (born January 10, 1952 in Saint-Hyacinthe , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current coach . He was last head coach of Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League from May to December 2018 .
Career
As a player
Jodoin began his career in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec with the National de Rosemont in 1969. There he remained until the end of the 1970/71 season. In the 1972/73 season he played in the CIAU for Loyola College , in the 1973/74 season for Concordia University .
As a trainer
From 1980, Jodoin was active as an assistant or head coach for various NHL and junior teams, the longest with the Canadiens de Montréal (from 1997 to 2003 and from 2012 to 2017). He began his coaching career as head coach at Montréal-Concordia for the 1987/88 season. In 2006 Jodoin was awarded the Paul Dumont Trophy as “Personality of the Year” . For his success as head coach he received the Trophée Ron Lapointe in 1997 ( Halifax Mooseheads ) and 2007 ( Lewiston MAINEiacs ) . In May 2018, the previous assistant coach Clément Jodoin took over the role of head coach at Eisbären Berlin after Uwe Krupp left the club. On December 19, 2018, he was released from his duties and replaced by Stéphane Richer . On January 21, 2019, Jodoin took over the role of assistant coach at EHC Red Bull Munich .
