Claire Castillon (born May 25, 1975 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French writer .

Not much is publicly known about the life of the young French writer. She is only just being discovered as a serious literary talent. A biography has not yet been written. According to her own statements, she loves solitude. In an interview she said: I like to be alone. I found myself in the seclusion. You suffer but you grow.

Works

Claire Castillon has published five novels and one play since 2000. She also wrote scripts, including one for her novel Je prends racine (together with the director Marion Vernoux ).

Her books have caught the attention of critics for the palpable honesty of the presentation. They deal with the impossibility of communicating with others and being understood, as well as, conversely, with the inaccessibility of the other and ultimately with the inaccessibility of personal happiness in interpersonal relationships. Her style is unvarnished and realistic, sometimes macabre to black humor.

In Le grenier the failing love affair between a young woman and a married man is told. Je prends racine is the attempt of an "old girl" to find her own independent place in life after the failure of her own love relationships, looking back on experiences and impressions from childhood. In La reine Claude is about the suffering of a young woman in the love relationship with a terminally ill. Pourquoi tu m'aimes pas? is a defiant cry against eternal damnation to loneliness.
