Claude Carlin

Claude Carlin (born January 17, 1961 in Argentan ) is a former French cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Carlin began cycling in 1977 after initially playing football . At the beginning of his career he had some top placings and stage wins in smaller tours in France, such as the Circuit des Mines or the Tour de Vaucluse . In 1986 he won the French championship in the road race for amateurs . In the same year he finished sixth at the UCI Road World Championships . In 1987, with Paris-Évreux , he won one of the most renowned and traditional races for amateurs in France. In 1984 and 1988 he was nominated by his association for the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angelos and Seoul, respectively. There he retired in 1984 from the race, in 1988 he was classified 70th in the road race. Carlin started three times in the International Peace Ride , with 39th place being his best in 1988 and winning a stage in 1983 .
