Claude Chastillon

Claude Chastillon (* 1559 or 1560 in Châlons-en-Champagne , France , † April 27, 1616 in Paris ) was an important French architect , topographer and engraver .

Chastillon became a topographer in the service of the French King Henry IV in 1592. His most important projects as an architect were the Hôpital Saint-Louis , which was built between 1607 and 1611, and the Parisian Place des Vosges , whose construction began in 1603 and ended in 1612.
