Claude Zidi

Claude Zidi (born July 25, 1934 in Paris ) is a French director and screenwriter .

Life

Zidi began in the 1960s as a camera assistant, including in Claude Chabrol and his films The Beast Must Die (1969) and The Butcher (1970). The great Charlots - Cheekiness wins (1971) with the comedy troupe Les Charlots was his first self-directed film. He remained specialized in comedies and wrote the script for almost all of his films. Breast or Club (1976) starred Louis de Funès and Coluche , and Jean-Paul Belmondo in A Crazy Guy .

In 1984 he won the César for Die Bribelichen with Philippe Noiret and Thierry Lhermitte in the categories of Director and Best Film . Two sequels followed the film. In the 1990s, Zidi's success gradually waned.
