Claudia Durchschlag (born August 15, 1958 in Linz ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From July 2007 to October 2008 and from February 2010 to November 2017 she was a member of the National Council . From October 2009 to February 2010 she was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament .

Life

Born in Upper Austria, she attended elementary school in Wöllersdorf and middle school in Vienna , where she graduated from the music-pedagogical secondary school in 1976. After completing specialist training at the Vienna General Hospital , she started working as a physiotherapist in 1979 .

From 1997 she was six years a member of the municipal council of Steyr (Upper Austria). After changing her place of residence, in 2003 she became a councilor of Neuhofen an der Krems (Traunviertel) and in the ÖVP Linz-Land district leader of the women's movement. Since 2004 she has headed the Austrian women's movement in Upper Austria.

At the top of the National Council election in October 2006, she took over the National Council mandate from Maria Fekter on July 2, 2007 when she was elected Ombudsman . However, Durchschlag resigned from the National Council on October 27, 2008 following the 2008 National Council election. She was subsequently a member of the Upper Austrian State Parliament from 2009 to 2010 and moved up again on February 24, 2010, this time for Peter Sonnberger in the National Council.

In the legislative period up to 2013 she was a member of the following committees: Committee for Consumer Protection; Human Rights Committee; Sports Affairs Committee; Health committee; Equal Treatment Committee; Culture Committee.
