In the summer of 2000 she was elected abbess by the convent to succeed M.  Edeltraud Forster and on October 3, 2000 she was appointed by the Limburg bishop Franz Kamphaus , who came from her home diocese of Münster . This made her the 39th successor to St. Hildegard von Bingen . As her motto, mother Clementia Dominus chose ipse faciet , “the Lord will bring it about”.

For several decades, the abbess of Rupertsberg and Eibingen has been leading the solemn festival of St. Hildegard, the Eibingen relic procession , during which the reliquary of St. Hildegard is carried through the streets. When Hildegard was promoted to Doctor of the Church on October 7, 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI. During the liturgical celebration on St. Peter's Square , Mother Clementia gave a brief overview of their life and work, before Cardinal Prefect Angelo Amato asked the Pope for the declaration.

On May 27, 2016, the abbot praeses of the Beuron congregation, Albert Schmidt , accepted the resignation she had brought forward for reasons of illness . Mother Clementia, a biological sister of Norbert Killewald , died on July 2, 2016 after a serious illness.
