Cnidoin is an elastic protein that some of cnidarians is formed (Cnidaria).

Cnidoin occurs in cnidaria in the nettle capsules (nematocyst) and is involved in their discharge, which is one of the fastest movements in living things. Cnidoin has a homology to proteins from spider silk . Cnidoin accumulates to form fiber bundles.
