Coelosaurus is a little-known genus of dinosaurs from the Coelurosauria group . Only individual fragments of the limb bones of this dinosaur have been found so far, which are sometimes provisionally assigned to the ornithomimosauria .

Two species have been described: Coelosaurus antiquus by Joseph Leidy in 1865 and Coelosaurus affinis by Charles W. Gilmore in 1920. The name means "hollow lizard", the finds come from several formations in the eastern United States . While C. antiquus comes from the late Upper Cretaceous (83 to 66 million years ago), Coelosaurus affinis is known from the Lower Cretaceous (130 to 100 million years ago).

Both species are considered nomina dubia , which means that the finds are too sparse to be able to make more precise statements about their appearance or systematic affiliation.
