Cora Volz

Cora Volz (* 1966 in Mainz ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Cora Volz studied art education and fine arts at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz from 1985 to 1996 . In 1995 she received a scholarship from the University of Mainz, and in 1997 she became a master student of Christa Biederbick .

Her main works are female portrait sculptures ( half-figures and busts ), which are made as plaster casts using additional materials such as textile fabric and colored stones.

Cora Volz lives in Mainz.

  • 1999: Emy-Roeder-Förderpreis (Young Rhineland-Palatinate Artists)
  • 1999: Prize for Fine Arts from the City of Mainz
  • 2004: Art Prize of the Zonta Club Ludwigshafen / Pfalz
