Corey Feldman (2010)

Corey Feldman (born July 16, 1971 in Chatsworth , California ) is an American actor and musician . He had his greatest successes as a child star in the 1980s .

biography

When Feldman was three years old he was produced in a McDonald’s commercial. He then appeared in over 100 television commercials and in about 50 television shows.

At the age of seven, he took on his first guest role in the television series Eight Is Enough . He made his feature film debut in 1979 with his role in the science fiction film Escape into the Future . A number of other series and film roles followed. His best-known films include Gremlins , Stand By Me , The Goonies, and The Lost Boys . As a young adult, his career suffered greatly from his drug abuse-related problems, particularly after an appearance under the influence of drugs on the Howard Stern show. He overcame his heroin and cocaine addiction in 1991 after receiving therapy at the Cri-Help rehab clinic in North Hollywood . Since then he has campaigned for young drug addicts actors.

After that Feldman was seen in some movies in which he took on minor roles and was no longer shown in the opening credits. In 1996 he made his only attempt to direct: Die Chaotentruppe vom 6th Revier . He then took part in B movies , e.g. B. American Eiskrem 3 1/2 (1992) and Sam and Dave - Two shooters on diving station (1994) from the National Lampoon’s series.

In the late 1990s, Feldman began a musical career alongside acting. In 1999 he released the album Still Searching For Soul with his band Corey Feldman's Truth Movement . His first solo album, Former Child Actor , was released in 2002. Feldman began filming The Coreys in 2006 , in which he can be seen together with his former film partner Corey Haim . Feldman will host the Daniel Farrand documentary Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th, returning to the Friday the 13th franchise , playing the character Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter .

In 2011, Feldman appeared in the extended version of Katy Perry's music video Last Friday Night (TGIF) as Kirk Terry. In 2012 Feldman took part in the British television show Dancing on Ice . He was also featured in an episode of Border Patrol Canada in September 2012 .

Private life

Feldman married actress Vanessa Marcil in 1989 , but they divorced after four years. In 2002 he married Susie Sprague , with whom he has a son (* 2004). After seven years of marriage, his wife filed for divorce in October 2009 and has been fighting for sole custody and alimony from Feldman ever since.

After Corey Haim's death, Feldman confirmed statements from her reality show The Coreys about child abuse in the entertainment industry in the 1980s in an interview with the ABC show Nightline in August 2011 . He and Haim fell victim to sexual abuse. He also said his rapist encouraged him to use drugs. In 2020 Feldman published the documentary My Truth in collaboration with the director Brian Herzlinger , with which he wants to support his statements. In the documentary, Charlie Sheen was accused of raping Haim.
