The Corporation for the Promoting and Propagating the Gospel of Jesus Christ in New England (including the New England Company ) was an English missionary society among the North American Indians . It was founded in 1649 and was puritanical in orientation. She supported the publication of the mission bibles of the English preacher and missionary John Eliot (1604–1690) in what was then Massachusetts (1. A. 1663; 2. A. 1685), the so-called Eliot Indian Bible ( Indian Bible of John Eliot) in the Massachusetts Language of the Indians there.
