Crypton Future Media KK ( Japanese ク リ プ ト ン ・ フ ュ ー チ ャ ー ・ メ デ ィ ア 株式会社 , Kuriputon Fyūchā Media Kabushiki kaisha , English Crypton Future Media, Inc. ) is a media company based in Sapporo , Japan. It develops, imports, and sells music products, such as sound generator software, sampled CDs and DVDs, sound effects, and collections of accompanying music. The company also offers services such as online shopping, an online community and services for mobile phones.
Overview
Crypton began importing audio products in 1995 and participated in the development, import and sale of sampled CDs and DVDs, sound effects and collections of accompanying music and synthesizer applications. The largest business partners in Japan include music stores, computer branches and software suppliers.
The company licensed its software to the following companies:
- Video game publishers such as Konami , Sega , Sony Computer Entertainment , Namco and Nintendo
- Public and private broadcasters (television, radio and cable) such as NHK
- Software and hardware companies such as Apple , Dell and Microsoft
- Instrument makers such as Roland or Yamaha Corporation
- Public institutions such as local governments, the Japanese Ministry of Defense and the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology "MEXT"
- Educational institutions such as secondary schools, universities, and vocational schools.
Crypton also operates a number of Japanese mobile websites, mainly for i-mode from NTT DoCoMo , EZweb from au by KDDI and Yahoo! Keitai from SoftBank Mobile to distribute ringtones, sound effects and voice ringtones.
A cell phone entertainment company in Israel , Eurocom Cellular Communications, is a global partner of Crypton.
In 2010, Crypton Future Media was announced as # 1 in sound-related software, with a market share of 21.4%.
Vocaloid Products and Services
Crypton is best known for producing and selling speech synthesis software for computer music . Their products use the Vocaloid developed by Yamaha Corporation . She was also hired to locate and contact English studios for recommendations on the English language version of the Vocaloid software. The company released Meiko in 2004 and Kaito in 2006. The release of the first Character Vocal Series Hatsune Miku , which uses the upgraded Vocaloid 2, increased the popularity of Crypton tremendously. The second and third characters in the Character Vocal Series are Kagamine Rin and Len and Megurine Luka. As the said vocaloids grew in popularity, Crypton launched the Piapro website to upload fan-generated content and its own music label "KarenT" to sell Vocaloid songs.
For the Vocaloid products, the company's chairman Hiroyuki Itō was awarded the Medal of Honor on the Blue Ribbon by the Japanese state , with which people who have made a contribution to the improvement of the common good and education are honored.
Vocaloid products
Kaito was sold as the only version that used the Vocaloid 1.1 engine; the previous Vocaloids were sold as Vocaloid 1.0, which is what it came with. However, he needed the additional Vocaloid 1.1.2 patch to work on the Vocaloid 1.0 engine. A patch was later issued to update all Vocaloids to Vocaloid 1.1.2. There were also new functions of the software, although there were differences between the output results of the engine. Although Kaito and Meiko were Japanese and sang according to the Japanese phonetic system, the main interface of the English and Japanese vocaloids were written in English.
Due to the success of depicting a character on Meiko's packaging, the concept was carried over to its successor Kaito and the later Vocaloids in order to stimulate creativity; however, no packaging design originally intended to represent the respective vocaloid. Although Meiko had good sales, Kaito was the only one to fail initially, as there was little demand for male voices until shortly after Kaito's release. However, the sales figures finally went up and shortly afterwards Kaito won the Nico Nico Douga award for the second best sale in 2008. An update from Meiko and Kaito is allegedly currently being discussed. Several upgraded linguistic words for Kaito have already been recorded. April 2011 it was confirmed that six recordings were made for Kaito. Two of them were dropped again, the remaining four continued to be used; one has already reached the alpha version. The character voices (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin / Len, and Megurine Luka) were used from their vocalists' vocal performances, but with Kaito, additional echo, power, and tension were added.

Vocaloid 2 products
On August 31, 2007, Crypton issued Hatsune Miku . The second of the Character Vocal Series was the first dual vocaloid Kagamine Len and Kagamine Rin, a Japanese man and a Japanese woman. On July 18, 2008, the upgraded edition by Kagamine Rin and Len, called "act2", was released. For a period of time, users who bought the old version could get the new version free of charge. On June 18, 2008, beta sample songs using the new version appeared on the company's official blog. Completely different software was used on the development disc that in no way emulates the original version of Rin / Len. It gives the user the option to use either the old or the new type of voice or to combine both. Crypton Future Media eventually stopped selling their old Kagamine Vocaloid, so it is no longer possible to purchase it.
On April 30, 2010, an upgraded version of Miku called Hatsune Miku Append was released; it contains a bundle of six different tones of Miku's voice: Sweet (“contains many sighs, sweetly whispering”), Dark (“balanced, slightly melancholy”), Soft (“gentle and graceful”), Light (“lively, powerful and bright "), Vivid (" clear and clear as in speaking exercises ") and Solid (" stiff and tense "). Crypton Future Media also published Kagamine Rin / Len Append on December 27, 2010.
The third product of Crypton's character vocal series is Megurine Luka, the first bilingual (bilingual) vocaloid.

Crypton is working (Stabd: 2010) on a "Project if ..." with an enigmatic, childlike voice. In the song Ido e Itaru Mori e Itaru Ido by the Japanese rock group Sound Horizon , a young, male-sounding prototype of the "Project if ..." was used in addition to Hatsune Miku, which until now has only been known under the name "Young March Prototype β".
