The Cuxhavener Nachrichten appears as a daily newspaper in the district town of Cuxhaven and the neighboring municipality of Nordholz . The sold circulation is 9026 copies, a decrease of 34.7 percent since 1998. They are published by the Cuxhaven-Niederelbe Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG. The publisher only maintains a local editorial office; the supraregional pages are produced by the Nordsee editorial team based at Bremerhaven's Nordsee-Zeitung . In addition to the Cuxhavener Nachrichten, the publisher publishes the Niederelbe-Zeitung based in Otterndorf and the advertising papers Cuxhaven Kurier and Hadler Kurier .

The Cuxhavener Nachrichten is printed in the Nordsee printing center in Bremerhaven (at the Bremerhaven-Geestemünde motorway exit).

The Cuxhaven-Niederelbe Verlagsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG is partly owned by the SPD , which holds its shares in the paper through its media holding DDVG . This significant share of today's monopoly newspaper in the city fell to the party after only one title remained of the three daily newspapers that were once published in Cuxhaven due to two mergers. One of the former papers, the Cuxhavener Presse , had been a wholly-owned party paper.
