Danish Jewish Museum
The Danish Jewish Museum (Danish: Dansk Jødisk Museum ) is a museum in Copenhagen that documents the 400-year history of the Jews in Denmark . One focus is the rescue of Danish Jews during the occupation by Nazi Germany in October 1943.
The museum is located in the center of the Danish capital, in Slotsholmen , in a former building of the old building of the Danish Royal Library , built in 1622 under King Christian the Fourth . It was designed by the architect Daniel Libeskind and opened in summer 2004. The inside of the building resembles the Jewish Museum Berlin , which was designed by the same architect and opened in 1999.
The museum displays paintings, drawings, photographs, books, newspapers, videos and films.
