Džemal Bijedić
Džemal Bijedić (born April 22, 1917 in Mostar , Bosnia and Herzegovina , † January 18, 1977 near Sarajevo ) was a Yugoslav politician of the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia (BdKJ) .
biography
Bijedić, a proponent of a nationality policy that also raised Bosnian Muslims to nationality, was President of the People's Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1967 to 1971 .
He then became Chairman of the Federal Executive Council (Prime Minister) of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on July 30, 1971 and at the same time took over the office of Federal Secretary (Minister) for the Interior in the central government until December 3, 1971. He held the post of Prime Minister until his death in a plane crash . Successor was Veselin Đuranović .
