Dagmar Wittmers

Dagmar Wittmers (born November 15, 1952 ) is a German director and screenwriter.

Life

Dagmar Wittmers initially completed a traineeship at German television and in the DEFA studio for feature films. Then she studied directing at the Babelsberg University of Film and Television and graduated with a diploma. From 1984 to 1991 she worked for the German TV broadcaster, after which she became a freelance author and director. Her work mainly includes television documentaries and portraits. In 1992, her film Angel with a Grand Piano was awarded the German Critics' Prize for Television. From 1992 to 1997 she produced the cinema magazine Film! (ORB), which showed artist portraits and reported on international films.

Dagmar Wittmers lives and works in Berlin .
