As a trainer

Training start 2019 (FCN)

He began his coaching career at his last club as a player, at SC Leopoldsdorf / Mfd. With DSV Fortuna 05 Vienna, he rose to the Regionalliga Ost in 2002/03, but then moved to SV Donau. In January 2005 he took over the regional division PSV Team for Vienna , which he led to fourth place in the table in the 2005/06 season and to the runner-up title of the Regionalliga Ost in the two following seasons. He left the club, which had now merged with the FAC , after three and a half years at the end of the 2007/08 season.

After almost a season as assistant trainer at Lokomotiv Moscow , he returned to the FAC team for Vienna as an interim trainer before leading the 1. Simmeringer SC into the regional league. In October 2011 he was lured away from FC Lustenau 07 , who was playing in the first division at the time . In January 2013 he finally moved to local rivals SCR Altach , who led them to the championship title and promotion to the Bundesliga in the following season . In the 2014/15 season his team qualified for the UEFA Europa League .

On November 11, 2016, he moved to league competitor SK Rapid Wien , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2018. After winning just three times in 17 games, Canadi was given a leave of absence in April 2017 and replaced by his assistant coaches Martin Bernhard and Goran Djuricin .

From June 2017 to May 2019 he was the coach of the Greek first division club Atromitos Athens . In these two years he achieved, among other things, a participation in the UEFA Europa League .

For the 2019/20 season , Canadi took over the second division team of the previously relegated 1. FC Nürnberg in Germany . On November 5, he was released when the team was 11th with 14 points after the 12th matchday and had previously been eliminated in the DFB Cup against third division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern . In July 2020 he became Atromitos coach for the second time.
