Damir Kreilach (born April 16, 1989 in Vukovar ) is a Croatian football player of German origin. Since February 2018 he has been under contract with Real Salt Lake in the US Major League Soccer .

Career

In the club

Kreilach moved from youth to the first team of HNK Rijeka in 2008 . He made his debut in the 1st HNL on April 30, 2008, the 27th matchday of the 2007/08 season . In the 5-2 win over Međimurje Čakovec , he was substituted on in the 65th minute. He scored his first goal with a head on April 11, 2009, the 25th matchday in the 4-1 win over NK Varaždin . Among other things, he played with HNK Rijeka on an international level in the UI Cup and in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League . For the 2013/14 season, Kreilach moved to the German 2nd Bundesliga for 1. FC Union Berlin . From the 2014/15 season he was team captain for a long time .

After 5 years in the capital, he dissolved his contract with the "Iron" on February 7, 2018 and signed with the US first division club Real Salt Lake .

National team

For the Croatian U-19 team , he made his debut on May 24, 2008 in a 2-2 draw against the German U-19s . For the U-21 national team , he played a few games in the qualification for the U-21 European Championship 2011 , in which he scored his first goal for Croatia in a 4-1 victory in the game against the Norwegian U-21s .
