At 3630.3  m, the Dammastock is the highest peak in the Uri Alps in Switzerland . It is the highest mountain in the canton of Uri and the highest point in Central Switzerland .

As the highest peak of the winter mountain, it towers over the Rhone Glacier and the Göschenertal . If it is very difficult to access from the north (climbing difficulty III-IV), then from the south, from the Rhone Glacier, easy glacier slopes lead to the summit. The Dammagletscher begins below the eastern flank and extends to the east as a wide field of firn .

On the south ridge of Moss Stocks, east of Dammastock and Dammagletscher , located at an altitude of 2,438  m , the Dammahütte .

In spring, a long, well-traveled ski tour from the Hotel Belvédère is ideal , while in summer the beautiful, easy and lonely crossing from the Trifthütte to the Furka Pass is ideal .

The first ascent of the Dammastock was made on July 28, 1864 by Albert Hoffmann-Burkhardt and the two guides Johann Fischer and Andreas v. Weissenfluh carried out.
