Legend

description

The naked Danaë is framed by a veil of royal purple , which is embroidered with golden balls, which indicates her royal origin. She takes a fetal position. The dark veil forms a contrast to the laburnum and light skin. The picture area is dominated by a thigh. The golden rain is coming down between her thighs. The picture seems to represent the time of conception. Danaë seems innocent and at the same time lustful. Her calm face contrasts with the sensuality of her thighs and chest. Her fingers seem to be playing with her chest . Her mouth is sensually open and brings back memories of an orgasm. A black square can be seen near the crotch, which can symbolize a penis.
