Daniel Benz

Daniel Benz (born August 8, 1987 in Dresden ) is a German badminton player and coach.

Life

Daniel Benz is the son of badminton player Andreas Benz . He started playing badminton in January 1999. He completed an apprenticeship for the higher service with the Hesse police. He has been playing for SG Anspach since the 2006/2007 season .

Career

Daniel Benz won several medals at the German Junior Championships before he was internationally successful for the first time in 2009. That year he was third in doubles at Iceland International 2009. In the 2010/2011 season he was German university champion in men's doubles. In 2013 he won the Swiss International . A year later he finished second at the Polish International 2014. In the 2011/2012 season he started for SG Anspach in the 1st Badminton Bundesliga .

At the 65th German Badminton Championships in 2017, he won the bronze medal in the men's doubles with his long-time partner Andreas Heinz (SV Fun-Ball Dortelweil).
