Daniela Alves Lima (born January 12, 1984 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian soccer player . She played right-footed in the position of midfielder.

Club career

Daniela started playing soccer at a young age. She received her football training at Portuguesa in São Paulo. From here she moved to San Diego Spirit in the USA in 2003 . Further stations for one season each in Sweden and the USA followed.

We also went to our homeland Brazil. In 2007 Daniela played at Saad EC . With this she was able to win the Brazilian Women's Cup as the top scorer with 14 goals in ten games. She then went back to Sweden and the USA, where her career ended unhappily.

In 2009 the player moved to Saint Louis Athletica . In the fourth game of the season against Washington Freedom , she suffered a broken shin and torn knee ligaments from a foul by Abby Wambach . The attending physician predicted a long-term failure.

In the 2010 season Daniela attempted a restart at the Hampton Roads Piranhas. But already on her first appearance she had to end the game after 18 minutes and with it her active career. Since returning to São Paulo, Daniela has been running a slaughterhouse .

National team

Daniela was supposed to be in the squad for the 1999 Women's World Cup at the age of 15, but was not allowed to start. Instead, she debuted in a friendly against the United States on September 26, 1999.

At 16, Daniela was a member of the Brazilian team that participated in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and was fourth with this. As the captain of Brazil's U-19 team, she took part in the 2002 U-19 Women's World Cup. Daniela scored three goals and reached the semi-finals with the team. She was also back in the squad at the 2003 Women's World Cup , but here you couldn't get past the quarter-finals.

Daniela won the silver medal at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics . At the 2007 Women's World Cup in the People's Republic of China , Brazil was only beaten 2-0 in the final by Germany. Daniela and her teammates Marta , Cristiane and Rosana were nicknamed "The Fantastic Four" at the tournament.
