The Adventure Goes On is a feature film by the Italian film director Carmine Gallone from 1939. Johannes Heesters plays the leading role of the internationally famous singer Heinz van Zeelen, who is not afraid of constantly entering into new flirts and affairs with strange women.

action

The internationally known stage singer Heinz van Zeelen is, besides his job, a passionate lover who always gets involved in new love adventures. When he was flirting with an American while performing in Milan and Helene, his wife, was watching him, his wife then asked him to fly to Munich with her the following day. The main thing she has in mind is that he forgets to flirt with the American. Heinz agrees, but he has in the back of his mind to fly back to Milan as soon as he arrives in Munich.

Due to bad weather conditions, however, the plane cannot land in Munich. Instead, an emergency landing is carried out and Heinz makes his own way back to Milan. He makes a stopover at a rural inn, where he falls in love again: this time with the landlord's daughter, whose greatest wish is to be able to take up acting as a profession one day. She senses her chance when she learns that Heinz is a famous singer.

In the meantime, Helene has filed for divorce from Heinz. As soon as he finds out, he goes straight back home. He is now insecure because he does not know how his marriage will go on, should it still last. On another appearance in a theater, his voice goes crazy because of his insecurity, he sings in crooked tones, his appearance threatens to end in fiasco. But when he discovers his wife in the audience, he realizes what he means to her and gains new self-confidence. This is also reflected in his voice: he sings more beautifully than ever and his marriage is happily saved in the end.
