Dave Payne

Dave Payne (* in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American screenwriter , director and actor.

Life

He studied at the University of Iowa in the well-known Iowa Writers' Workshop before settling in Los Angeles. There the producer Roger Corman became aware of him through a script and he became a "Corman student" , like Martin Scorsese or Francis Ford Coppola before .

Payne directed the 1998 film Addams Family, starring Tim Curry (as Gomez Addams) and Daryl Hannah (as Morticia Addams). He wrote the script for the horror comedy Boltneck , which was released in 2000 with actor Ryan Reynolds. He was the scriptwriter and director for the 2001 film Just can't get enough . Together with his wife Tina Illman Payne, he founded the production company The Institution .
