David Alasdair Boudia (born April 24, 1989 in Abilene ) is an American water diver . He starts in 10 m tower and synchronized jumping. His dubbing partner is Thomas Finchum , and since 2011 he has also been jumping with Nick McCrory .

Boudia, who previously suffered from fear of heights , took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he was tenth in high diving and fifth in synchronized diving with Finchum.

Boudia has won two medals at swimming world championships so far , each in the 10 m synchronized jumping together with Finchum. The duo won bronze in Melbourne in 2007 and silver in Rome in 2009 . In 2011 in Shanghai he finished fifth with McCrory, in the individual from the tower he finally won his first international individual medal. He won the silver medal behind Qiu Bo and ahead of Sascha Klein . At the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 , the duo Boudia / Finchum won the gold medal. In 2012 he won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in London ahead of the Chinese Qiu Bo and Thomas Daley from Great Britain. He achieved a total of 568.65 points in a high-class final. Boudia was the first US Olympic gold medalist from the tower since the success of Greg Louganis in 1988 in Seoul . Together with Nick McCrory, he also won bronze in synchronized jumping.

Boudia is a multiple American champion. In 2010 he was named Diver of the Year by the US Federation.
