David Hablützel (born April 24, 1996 in Truttikon ) is a Swiss snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Hablützel has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2008 . He achieved his first podium finishes in January 2010 at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax with third place on the halfpipe and first place in slopestyle . At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he won the halfpipe at the Iceripper Junior Open in Laax and Davos . At the Burton European Junior Open 2011 in Laax, he took second place in slopestyle and first place on the halfpipe. He drove his first FIS World Cup race in November 2011 in Saas-Fee , which he finished in 48th place in the halfpipe competition. In January 2012, he won the bronze medal in slopestyle at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Kühtai . In the same month he came third in the Slopestyle at Engadinsnow in St. Moritz . At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo , he came 25th on the halfpipe. In January 2013, the Audi Snowboard Series won the half-pipe event in Davos. At the following World Snowboard Championships in 2013 in Stoneham , he finished 65th in slopestyle and 33rd on the halfpipe. In the 2013/14 season he achieved second place in slopestyle at the O'Neill Pleasure Jam in Schladming and third place on the halfpipe at the Burton US Open in Vail . In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he reached fifth place in the halfpipe competition. He finished the season in 19th place in the World Snowboard Tour overall ranking. In January 2015, he came ninth on the halfpipe at the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg . A week later he finished fifth in his first appearance at the Winter X Games in Aspen in the Superpipe competition. At the Burton European Open 2015 in Laax, he came third in the halfpipe competition. The following year he took third place on the halfpipe at the Laax Open. At the X-Games Oslo 2016 he came fourth in the halfpipe competition. In March 2017, he took seventh place in the halfpipe at the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . He finished tenth at the Winter X Games 2020 . As an entrepreneur, he sells socks made from ocean plastic.
