David Silverman (2014)

David Silverman (born March 15, 1957 in New York City ) is an American animator . He is known for the animation of the first episodes of the television series The Simpsons and also worked on films such as Ice Age and Monsters, Inc. with. Silverman has also directed the Simpsons and other productions. In 1992 he was honored with an Annie Award in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in the Field of Animation category.

Silverman is also the director of The Simpsons, released in 2007 .

In 2012 he directed the Simpsons short film The Longest Daycare Day , which was nominated for an Oscar in 2013 in the category Best Animated Short Film . The animated film was shown as part of the 20th Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart , which he has enriched several times as a guest. In 2013 he was a jury member in the category Cartoons for Teens alongside Peter Smith and Jannes Hendrikz .
