Dawyd Igorewitsch ( Russian Давыд Игоревич ; * around 1058 (?); † May 25, 1112 ) was Prince of Tmutarakan (1081-1082), Dorogobusch (1084-1086), Volhynia (1086-1100) and Busk (1100-1122) . He was a grandson of Yaroslav the Wise .

Life

The year of his birth is not known. After the early death of his father Igor Jaroslawitsch in 1160, he lived with Jaropolk Isjaslavich , his father's successor in Vladimir .

In 1081 he conquered the principality of Tmutarakan with Volodar Rostislavich , but was expelled there again in 1082. In 1084 he received the Dorogobusch Castle from Grand Duke Vsevolod Yaroslavich of Kiev . In 1086 he became Prince of Volhynia after the death of Jaropolk Isjaslavich. Around this time the new principalities of Zvenigorod , Peremyschl and Terebovlja were formed in Volhynia, from which the Principality of Halitsch later emerged.

In 1097 Dawyd took part in the Prince's Day of Lyubetsch , where Volhynia was confirmed to him as an independent principality. In that year he was expelled from Vladimir by Wassilko Rostislawitsch von Terebowlja and fled to Poland. 1099 he could use the Polovtsian Khan Bonjak Vladimir and Lutsk recapture, but had in 1100 after the princes of Uwetitschij the Principality of the Grand Duke Svyatopolk Isjaslawitsch of Kiev cede. In return he received the castles Busk, Ostrog, Dubno, Tschartoryjsk and Dorogobusch and founded the Principality of Busk.

On May 25, 1112 he died in Dorogobusch.

family

The wife's name is not known. Sons were Igor Dawydowitsch († after 1150) and possibly Vsevolod von Grodno († 1114).
