Deaf Theater Network Europe Vienna

Deaf theater network europe (Deaf Theater Network Europe) is an association of several deaf - theaters . The network was founded in 2001 in Vienna during the Deaf Theater Conference with the aim of making deaf artists and the deaf theater better known. The following projects are to be implemented in the future:

  1. Permanent video documentation by a team of also deaf specialists. This is done under the direction of Teatr 3 Szczecin (Poland) with Olgierd Koczorowski.
  2. Deaf theater for children in cooperation with the deaf theater of Janáček University in Brno VDN-DIFA-JAMU (Czech Republic), Teatr 3, Quest: arts for everyone (USA) and ARBOS Society for Music and Theater (Austria).
  3. Professional education and training material. The coordination takes place under the direction of ARBOS - Society for Music and Theater .
  4. The history of the deaf theater in Europe.
  5. Joint development of theater projects by Teatr 3, ARBOS and Ramesh Meyyappan (Singapore / Scotland).
  6. Organization of the “European Deaf Theater Conference” and informal theater meetings. The coordination is done by ARBOS.
  7. Organization of the "European & International Deaf Theater Festival" in Vienna including the annual network conference.

Deaf theater is part of the art of the world, this theater is performed by deaf artists. But it is also normal for deaf and hearing artists to work together. The Deaf Theater tells stories about deaf people, their lives and their culture. Theater can include sign language , drama , facial expression, visual theater, dance , music, comedy, and any other form of the performing arts.

The "Deaf Theater" is intended for deaf and hearing viewers.
