DEKAdance is a rock band from Dresden . The formation, founded in the GDR in the early 1980s, offers entertaining zappaesque music in a wide variety of styles - from folk music to heavy metal .

The members of DEKAdance play or have played in a number of side projects, such as The New Fantastic Art Orchestra of North , Aufruhr in der Savanne (aids), the Rockys , Potentia Animi , Fetita Mea Mică and The European Jazz Ensemble of Modern Art. As the drummer Gabi Schubert, the comedian Olaf Schubert parodies himself as his own "sister". For many years, members of the self-proclaimed "mother of all bands" have performed the legendary nativity play in the Dresden barn and meanwhile in many other places in Central Germany .
