The Monument of Princess Olga, St. Andrew the Apostle and the missionaries Cyril and Methodius ( Ukrainian Пам'ятник княгині Ользі, святому апостолу Андрію Первозваному та просвітителям Кирилу і Мефодію / Pamjatnyk knjahyni Olsi, swjatomu apostolu Andriju Perwoswanomu ta proswityteljam Kyrylu i Mefodiju ) in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and was built in memory of Olga of Kiev , the apostle Andrew , and the missionaries Cyril and Method .

Construction of the monument began in 1909 and the opening took place on September 4, 1911. In 1919, the statue of Princess Olga created by Ivan Kawaleridze was overthrown by the Bolsheviks . The monument was completely dismantled by 1935, rebuilt in 1996 and the sculpture ensemble was inaugurated on May 25, 1996.

description

The sculpture composition consists of three sculptures made of white marble, each on a granite base. In the center is the sculpture of Princess Olga, to the left of this that of the Apostle Andrew and to the right of her are Cyril and Method. The tallest figure is that of the princess with a height of 3.45 meters. The area of ​​the monument is 9.2 × 4.51 meters.
