The Trödel-King is a documentary soap that has been running on WDR television since July 9, 2007 about the junk dealer Roland Beuge (* 1966 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ), who is known as the "Trödel-King". So far, 89 episodes have been broadcast in 10 seasons.

According to WDR, the show will not continue after the last season, which was broadcast in 2011. The expiry was planned and had nothing to do with the conviction of Beuge for tax evasion. The 89th episode, last for the time being, was first broadcast on November 25, 2011.

Roland Beuge helps, for example, with the liquidation of recently deceased relatives or emigrants from Germany, with the liquidation of private collections or just clearing out the basement. He also gives tips on how to deal with old things correctly.

Roland Beuge has already sold almost everything, from toy trains to sailing boats. Before Roland Beuge received his own program in 2007, he was already active as a junk expert in other programs, for example in the ProSieben program “Ramsch und Reibach” and the WDR program “Der große Finanz-Check”. Until 2011 he was still an expert during the service time of WDR television . After Beuge's conviction for tax evasion, the WDR no longer works with him.

The RTL2 program Der Trödeltrupp, launched in 2008, and the documentary soap “Trödelfieber” broadcast on MDR television from 2006 to 2011 are based on the same concept as Der Trödel-King .
