Derek Livingston (born January 5, 1991 in Scarborough ) is a Canadian snowboarder . He starts in the disciplines halfpipe and slopestyle .

Career

Livingston 'started in Cypress for the first time in the World Cup in February 2009 and finished 27th in the halfpipe. The following year he came at the Junior World Championships in Cardrona on 22nd place in slopestyle and tenth place in the halfpipe. At the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina he achieved 31st place in the halfpipe and at the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2011 in Chiesa in Valmalenco, 15th place in slopestyle and 13th place in the halfpipe. At the end of February 2011 he achieved his first top ten placement in the World Cup with sixth place in slopestyle in Calgary . In March 2012 he became the Canadian champion in the halfpipe. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , he finished 51st in the halfpipe and the following year in his first Olympic participation in Sochi, 19th place. In March 2014 he won the halfpipe at the Snowcrown Ski and Snowboard Festival in Blue Mountain . In the 2014/15 season he finished 13th and 12th in the World Cup and 12th place in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he finished 25th in the halfpipe. At the end of February 2016, he finished ninth in the halfpipe at the X-Games Oslo . At the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada he came in 26th place and at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 in 17th place in the halfpipe. In 2016 and 2017 he became the Canadian halfpipe champion. In the 2018/19 season he achieved his first podium finishes in the World Cup with third places in Calgary and Mammoth and at the end of the season he finished 26th in the Freestyle World Cup and ninth place in the Halfpipe World Cup. At the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City , he finished seventh in the halfpipe.
