The German pension insurance North (DRV Nord) is one of 14 regional carriers of under the umbrella of German Pension Insurance combined carrier of the statutory pension insurance in the Federal Republic of Germany .
Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord is headquartered in the Hanseatic City of Lübeck in a new building from 1997 on Ziegelstrasse in St. Lorenz . It is subject to the legal supervision of the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Family, Youth and Seniors. Two further administrative centers are located in Hamburg and Neubrandenburg . Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord is responsible for 2.2 million insured persons and one million pensioners in the federal states of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein .
It was created on September 30, 2005 from the merger of the state insurance institutions of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein.
tasks
Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord provides all the benefits of the statutory pension insurance. It operates a network of information and advice centers. It operates its own clinics for medical rehabilitation purposes (especially pediatric treatment ).
In the international area, Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord is responsible for the insureds of the regional carriers for Denmark , Estonia , Finland , Great Britain and Northern Ireland , Ireland , India , Canada , Latvia , Lithuania , Norway , Sweden and the USA .
organs
The organs are the self-administration and the management. Self-governing bodies are the representative assembly and the board. The composition of the organs takes place partly through nomination and partly through social elections .
Representative Assembly
The Assembly of Representatives is the highest body and has consisted of 15 representatives each from the insured and the employer since October 6, 2017. It exercises a control function vis-à-vis the board of directors and the management.
The tasks of the representative assembly include a. the establishment of the budget, the resolution of the statutes and the election of the management, the board of directors and the elders of the insured. Alternating chairmen of the meeting of representatives are Heiko von Thaden (from the group of insured persons) and Falk Schütt (from the group of employers).
Board
The Executive Board has consisted of twelve members since October 6, 2017. Half of the members of the board of directors must belong to the group of insured persons and half to the group of employers. The tasks of the board include a. to draw up the budget and review the annual accounts. To this end, the board of directors decides on defined organizational, personnel and financial issues.
Alternating chairmen of the board are Uwe Polkaehn (from the group of insured persons) and Edgar E. H. Wonneberger (from the group of employers).
Management
The managing director, Volker Reitstätter, conducts the current administrative business on a full-time basis, unless the law or other law applicable to the insurance carrier stipulates otherwise, and represents the insurance carrier in and out of court. The tasks of the managing director are carried out by his deputy, Dr. Dieter Starke, noticed.
The management is elected by the meeting of representatives on the proposal of the board of directors.
