The German Judges Academy serves the supraregional training of judges and public prosecutors . It was launched in 1967 at the 35th Federal and State Justice Ministers' Conference. Based on an administrative agreement, they jointly run the judges' academy.

After making temporary arrangements at different seminar locations, the German Judges Academy got its own conference center in Trier in 1973 . A second house was opened in 1993 in Wustrau , about 70 km northwest of Berlin.

The events are aimed exclusively at judges and public prosecutors. Registration takes place via the administration of justice . Foreign professionals can be admitted as participants.

The German Judges Academy offers around 150 events annually. The current director is Stefan Tratz.
