occupation

My Husband's Girlfriend is a German comedy from 1957 by Axel von Ambesser about a man ( Hans Söhnker ) between two women ( Barbara Rütting and Hannelore Schroth ).

action

Alfred Roscher did it: The established architect, a typical product of the economic boom, is successful in his job, drives a noble sleigh and has a good wife by his side as well as two well-off and almost adult children (a daughter, a son). Although or maybe because he has been more or less happily married for two decades and his faithful wife Gabriele has turned the spacious house into a real home, he has grown a little tired of the monotony of his marriage. When Alfred one day met the sophisticated fashion designer and Parisian by choice Charlotte Bernhardt, it happened to him. She embodies everything that Gabriele does not have: cosmopolitanism, chic and esprit. So it doesn't take long for Alfred to succumb to her charm and make advances.

What began as an unconsequential affair for the graying architect soon ended in an embarrassing affair for him: The children Mariella and Claus disapprove of the father's alleged cheating, and his wife is by no means willing to cede her Alfred to competitor Charlotte without a fight. Since he hardly crosses the boundaries of marital fidelity, Alfred Roscher firmly believes that his wife will quickly forgive him for the mini-affair, especially since Charlotte, as an independent, independent businesswoman, should not be willing to give up her independence for a man anyway. But Alfred was wrong twice: Contrary to expectations, Charlotte falls in love with the preppy family man, and his wife doesn't take Alfred Lustwandelei lightly as much as expected. After minor hook-ups between the three protagonists, Roscher finally finds his way back to home and hearth and his wife, remorseful.

Production notes

My husband's girlfriend was written in the spring of 1957 and was premiered on August 22, 1957 in Frankfurt am Main.

Producer Alfred Greven , whose last feature film this was, was also the production manager. Alfred Bütow designed the film structures. For him, too, My Husband's Girlfriend was the last movie.
