action

Julianne, a successful restaurant critic , and her best friend Michael agreed years ago that if they weren't married by their 28th birthday, they would marry each other. Just before they turn 28, Julianne learns that Michael will marry the wealthy Kimmy in a few days. Then she suddenly realizes that she feels far more for Michael than she previously believed. She therefore got the idea that she should prevent this wedding by all means. From now on, Julianne never misses an opportunity to dissuade Michael from the wedding. She does not shy away from manipulation or fraud in which she sends a bogus e-mail on behalf of Michael's future father-in-law.

However, all attempts fail, and Michael only holds on to his future wife even more firmly. Julianne is desperate and so her gay friend George has to come to her aid. Julianne confesses her love to Michael and kisses him, which Kimmy accidentally observes. Kimmy then runs away - a few hours before the wedding - Michael immediately runs after her, and Julianne in turn pursues Michael. However, he finally decides in favor of Kimmy, who is found by Julianne and convinced to marry the man of our dreams after all.

In the end, Julianne has no choice but to dance to the song I Say a Little Prayer with George at Michael's wedding .

Reviews

The film is a comedy film , in the style of the American screwball comedies of the 1940s and 1950s.

The lexicon of international films judged: “A comedy that prevents marriage and whose weaknesses in the script are largely masked by the dazzling interpretation of the main role. Despite the lovingly detailed staging still a little original cinema experience. "

The film website kino.de wrote: "Pointed wars of words and the over-the-top situation comedy lift this lively jealousy study from the mass of romantic love stories."

The evening newspaper wrote: “The story of Ronald Bass is simple, the staging of PJ Hogan conventional to routine. And yet you can get some pleasure from the thing: The actors give the comedy monkey a lot of sugar. And all of our low instincts such as envy and glee are well served. "
