The three robbers is a German animation film produced in 2007 by Hayo Freitag . The film is based on the world-famous picture book of the same name by Tomi Ungerer , which was first published in 1961. The film was released in cinemas on October 18, 2007 and was awarded the rating of particularly valuable by the Filmbewertungsstelle Wiesbaden (FBW) .

In order to escape the orphanage after the death of her parents , little Tiffany claims to be the daughter of a maharajah when the three robbers are attacked . The robbers kidnap her to extort a ransom later and take her to a cave, where they become friends with her over time. Finally, they help the child, defeat the angry aunt, who wants to deport Tiffany to the home, in a cake fight and ensure that her wealth benefits others too.
