Dieter Tasch (* 1928 in Hanover ) is a German author and publisher, particularly on Hanover-specific topics, and was a journalist for the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ) for decades .

Life

Born in 1928 and as a teenager “in a domestic air raid shelter ” witnessed everyday life during the Nazi era , the air raids on Hanover , the plight of the people and the later reconstruction, Dieter Tasch was from 1949 to 1993 “chief reporter ” at HAZ. Tasch also wrote a travel report in 1966 about the countries of Lebanon , Syria and Jordan at the time, and - after his time at the HAZ - for example the commemorative publication for the centenary of the Madsack publishing house or company and technology stories from the capital of Lower Saxony.

Book example: Hanover between zero and a new beginning

Dieter Tasch has the material for his book Hannover between Zero and New Beginning , published in the second edition in 2002 , the “dramatic course of a turning point” at the end of the Second World War

"... collected over many years with research in domestic and foreign archives as well as with participants in Hanover, England and the USA."

His descriptions of an existence between hardship, looting, hunger and hopelessness, after which few initially took the first steps out of chaos into a new future, can hardly be imagined by younger people "in Europe of the 21st century".

Although the book lacks verifiable individual references , three registers can be found in the appendix after the epilogue with general archive and contemporary witness information as well as a picture credit :

  1. a register of persons,
  2. a register of companies, parties, clubs, associations, authorities, schools, newspapers and other institutions and associations, as well
  3. a register of place names.
