Joachim Dietmar Mues [ myːs ] (born December 21, 1945 in Dresden ; † March 12, 2011 in Hamburg ) was a German theater and film actor , screenwriter and writer . He was also known as a speaker for radio plays and readings .

Life

Dietmar Mues completed his training as an actor from 1963 to 1966 at the Hamburg University of Music and Performing Arts . After engagements in Kiel, Nuremberg and Mannheim, from 1973 he spent twelve years in the ensemble at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.

His most important theater works were with Jürgen Flimm , Jérôme Savary , Luc Bondy , Ernst Schröder and Heinrich Koch . In 1978 he got paid for his role in Dario Fos Don't Get Paid! the Actor Award at the North German Theater Meeting . From 1986 he worked as a freelance actor, as a spokesperson for TV productions (including Spiegel TV and Extra 3 ) and as a screenwriter. He has appeared in more than a hundred film and television roles, including the TV series Tatort .

He was married to Sibylle Mues (née Buda), a teacher; his three sons, Wanja , Jona and Woody, are also active in the acting field.

Mues and his wife Sibylle died on March 12, 2011 in a traffic accident in Hamburg when they were hit by a car on a sidewalk.

The social scientist Günter Amendt and the sculptor Angela Kurrer were also killed in the accident; the actor Peter Striebeck and his wife were injured. On April 2, 2011, Mues and his wife were buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery. The person who caused the accident, suffering from epilepsy , had already caused several serious traffic accidents in previous years. He was sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment for negligent homicide and negligent bodily harm . The court also ordered the driver's license to be revoked .

Dietmar Mues has been working with jazz musicians in various formations for a number of years, whereby it was important to him that "music and language do not stand side by side, but rather form a unit". His close friend Dieter Glawischnig was usually involved in this.

Dietmar Mues can be heard in numerous radio plays. Examples are the SWR production The Lord of the Rings (director: Bernd Lau ), in which he lent Gollum his voice; the audio books Jack the Ripper - The Story of a Murderer (Ripper Records; Director: Frank Gustavus), which is based on the diaries of the cotton merchant James Maybrick , as well as the New Scotland Yard files. He was also in the 74th episode of the series Die Drei ??? ... and the burning sword as Dr. Hear Wright. He can also be heard as Fynn in Hello Mr. God, Anna speaks here from Universal Family / Oetinger. He also gave Johannes Kraut his vote in the 168th episode of TKKG Million Coup in the stadium .
